What we know about vitamins? Vitamins are organic compounds that are required in a small quantity in our body. Vitamins are essential to many cellular metabolic activities and they are crucial for maintaining our body’s good health, if there are insufficient vitamins in our diet, this may lead to the lack of vitamins in our body cells which will cause a deficiency. Other than that, minerals differ from vitamins as they are inorganic nutrients and they have to be obtained through our diet. Some people define minerals as naturally occurring, inorganic solid with definite chemical composition and crystalline structure.
