The Centers for Disease Control released a report on Friday that says as many as 1 out of 5 children suffer in the U.S. from a mental disorder. The report also said that the number of children who are diagnosed with a mental disorder has been on the increase for over a decade. This was the first ever study by the CDC of mental disorders amongst children between the ages of 3 and 17. Questions about the effectiveness of treating attention deficit hyperactivity disorder have been raised in a new study. The study examined young children taking medication for ADHD and found that many preschoolers continued to have serious symptoms years after their original diagnosis.
