Losing weight is not as hard as you think, especially when you’re a teenager. Weight gain usually derives from a poor diet and lack of physical activity. This doesn’t mean that you need to workout at a gym five days a week, two hours a day. Nor, does it mean that you have to live off of rice cakes and water! But, there is a way to effectively lose weight while you enjoy doing it!
Eat all day!
That’s right! You can eat all day and have a blast doing. Eating three main meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and snacks in between, like fresh fruits and vegetables, should get you on your way to losing weight. What you eat and how often you eat is crucial to your weight loss success. Between healthy eating and regular physical activity, you should easily lose two to three pounds a week!
There is one catch. You must remove junk from your diet. This means candy of all types, chips, soft drinks, and other fatty foods need to go! But, it’s not all bad. Because once you’ve achieved your first two to three pound weight loss you can treat yourself to one favorite thing on that one day you designate as your reward day!
Being active doesn’t mean being locked in a gym.
You’re a teen for goodness sake! There are plenty of school activities and after school activities in which to get involved! Get involved in school sports like basketball, swimming, football, soccer, volley ball, softball and baseball. There are probably plenty of other sports your school offers that were not mentioned here. There are plenty of afterschool and weekend sport programs in which you can get involved!
Even if you don’t want to get involved in after school activities, there are plenty of physical activities you can do on your own, like jogging, hiking, walking and working out to workout DVDs. Even dancing can help you lose weight!
The choices are endless. Your advantage is your youth and your energy. You just need the gumption to get started!
