Hematuria occurs when red blood cells are found in the urine. Sometimes hematuria can be the cause of bleeding in the urogenital tract. Bleeding can either be recurrent or may happen once. Hematuria can be divided into two types: microscopic and gross. It is not so easy to identify hematuria as this disease is associated with various conditions. But the most common causes are the following: bladder stones, renal calculus, kidney disease, prostate infection, cancer or tumors in the urinary system, urinary tract blockages, viral infections of the urinary tract as well as veneral diseases (usually in women).
It may turn out that blood in the urine can be only the sign of a disorder. But despite of this, a number of symptoms can be presented, such as celiodynia, fever, frequent emiction, pain during urination, decreased urinary force, urgency.
If you come across with such disease, the treatment can vary as the underlying cause plays a great role. If the condition is not serious, no treatment is necessary. But in case you suffer from benign prostatic hyperplasia, you have to exclude food and beverages as well as medications that provoke the prostate. To treat the disease, BPH is prescribed. But if nothing helps, it is necessary to undergo surgical removal of all or part of the gland.
