The proper way to do this is to use the pads of your index finger, your middle finger, and ring finger and began to feel for lumps or thickening in your right breast.

“It is important to know your body and fully understand how your breasts feel normally. It is normal or common to have a ridge at the lower curve of your breast. If you have any questions ask your doctor.”

Now move your fingers around your breasts in an up and down movement to feel for abnormalities. Next move your fingers in a circular motion while feeling for lumps.

After you have completed the examination of the right breast it is time to examine your left breast in the same manner.

Once you have examined both breasts you need to perform the same examination while standing up with one arm behind your head. Do this for both your right and left breast.
