Live life, at its fullest, with diabetes
If you think that I made a mistake when giving a title to this article, then you are mistaken. I am fully aware of it and I want you to know that diabetes is not the end of your life. Although it might seem as if your life has ended, it has not. The good news is that you can still live a full and healthy life in spite of your diabetes.
Diabetes is not a new disease. It affects about 16 million of Americans, with new cases coming in each year. Diabetes can attack anyone, irrespective of gender, class, age or even race. It can cause kidney failure, heart disease, stroke, birth defects and even reduction in your life expectancy by at least 15 years.
However, having said that, I still maintain the claim that I made earlier. All you need is a little bit of extra care and you can live an almost normal life.
You will need to make a specific diet plan; you can take the help of your doctor and together you can plan a personalised plan for you so that you can stick to it and maintain your sugar levels normal. It is vital to keep your body on a specific schedule because that way you can regulate your blood sugar. You have your meals at specific times and a specific number of times. If you have the habit of skipping meals, then you are in for large irregularities in your blood sugar. Keeping your blood sugar in the range on 70 to 120 is normal and it will also help you to feel better.
While everyone needs to eat healthy, not only diabetics, especially diabetics have to take extra precaution. You have to balance carbohydrates, fats, proteins, minerals, vitamins, fiber as well as water in your diet.
Carbohydrates give you sugar and starch. Breads, cereal, pasta, potatoes, peas, beans as well as lentils are sources of starch while milk, fruits and vegetables are sources of natural sugar. You have to eat same amounts of carbohydrates everyday to maintain a constant level of blood sugar.
You will need protein for normal growth as well as maintenance of your body. Meats, fish, poultry, milk, eggs, peas, beans are all sources of protein. You will need insulin in order to be able to use protein.
Now the good fats are the monounsaturated and polyunsaturated ones while the saturated fats are not so good as in they increase the cholesterol of your blood.
The best thing to do is to plan a combination of the right exercises and a balanced diet, and taking the proper proportions of insulin. It will take some effort on your part, however, you will be able to lead a healthy normal life.

This article is very useful
Both type 1 and 2 have reached epidemic numbers. Type 1 is an autoimmune disease and they are very interesting; there are approximately 80 to 100 with another 40 waiting for a name. And medical science cannot explain why and has not found a cure for even one. You can trigger one of them just by having an auto accident, taking aspirin or by starting a new exercise routine, even too much stress says latest research. Naturopathic medicine says for both 1 and 2, “Look for the root, it is in the basics beginning with what is on your fork, what toxins are in your body, what exercise do you do, what stress is in your life, what is your spiritual base”. Scientific arrogance has led us down the wrong path we better stop and take a close look at what is happening. Autoimmune disease is the worst kind of contradiction; for an type 1 diabetic you are attacking your pancreas with your immune system, a world upside down. God bless you in your search.
Sincerely
Paul
