Reshaping your hip one month after delivery

A newborn brings all around happiness and joyous outbursts in every family. However, post delivery time is an exhaustive period bringing in concerns about the health maintenance of both mother and baby. Additionally the mother becomes worried about regaining the body shape, fitness and luster of her pre-pregnancy days. During pregnancy she has added a lot of pounds to her body on stomach down to thighs.

Losing the pounds that a mother has added during her pregnancy is a very important aspect of restoring normalcy in post delivery life, because not doing so increases the chances of getting obese in later life inviting diabetes and other serious medical complications.

The program of losing weight and reshaping body should be planned to avoid undue hurries and get slow but sure results over a period of say 9 months to one year. As a thumb rule, exercise programs may begin six weeks after delivery in case of mothers with vaginal delivery and 9/10 weeks for mothers undergoing c-section delivery.

Precaution should be taken to avoid strenuous workouts particularly in case of c-section deliveries as the stomach muscles were cut for delivery. So the stomach muscles need a bit more time to get healed. It is always advised to consult a doctor as to when to begin exercising without jeopardizing adequate milk supply to babies for breast-feeding mom.

A good option is Yoga exercises or Pilates. DVDs are available for this type of exercises to guide you on stretching and strengthening muscles, which were considerably strained during childbirth. As the newborn needs good amount of mothers’ time, five days of workout per week may be good enough. However if you miss a day, especially when the child is fussy, you need not lose heart, rather complete the work out the next day.

Another good option is walking or running outside. If the baby is about four months old, the baby can be taken on a jogging stroller for fresh air while you can do brisk walking or running.

Light free hand exercises in open grassy lawns are also quite good for reshaping your body, as these are less strenuous but burns good amount of calories and are particularly good for hip and thigh fat reduction.

Along with physical workouts, various reshaping garments and wraps are available to help reshape hips, waistline, thighs etc. A careful choice with advice from doctors may help reshape your lower part of the body while you are on regular workouts.
Use of fat inhibitors, which attract fat molecules and bind them together to form big enough chains so that the fat instead of getting digested get expelled in the excreta.

However that does not mean that no diet control is needed. A low calorie diet is essential to regain body shape.

Mind it, being a mom itself burns a lot of your calories in the nursing activities while you are pacing the floor frequently to comfort a crying baby, feeding milk, changing nappies etc.

Therefore use of a judicious mix of exercises, diet control, body wraps and even fat inhibitors, under proper medical guidance will eventually reshape of your body figure to pre-pregnancy level or at least a semblance of it.
