Some More Facts about CFS

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (or CFS) is not as light and unserious as it seems to be from the first sight. There are a lot of people who refer to the disease as to a simple slight indisposition. But probably, they do not realize that this mysterious illness affects more than one million people in the U.S.A. The symptoms that they experience can vary but usually it is possible to single out the most typical ones. They are: headaches of the type that has never been experienced predated fatigue, sleep that gives no refresh pain in muscle and different joints, substantial impairment in memory and concentration abilities, malaise, and sometimes sore throat.

However, on one million people with the real diagnose there are tens of millions of patients with similar fatiguing illnesses, but who do not fully meet the condition of CFS diagnosing. They either have some almost the same medical conditions or some other conditions that can cause the symptoms that are similar to CFS.

Firstly, I will tell you some words about similar medical conditions. The crux of the matter is that, a great deal of diseases that have been described, have a similar to CFS rage of symptoms. They can be neurasthenia, myalgic encephalomyelitis, various chemical sensitivities, fibromyalgia syndrome, or mononucleosis in chronic form. Chronic fatigue syndrome is commonly related to all these illnesses, but that is not right.

Secondly, there exist a huge number of diseases that are clinically defined, frequently treatable and that may be the result of the not overcoming fatigue. These include, chronic mononucleosis, sleep apnea and narcolepsy, hypothyroidism, bipolar affective disorders, schizophrenia, alcohol or substance abuse autoimmune disease, main depressive disorders, eating disorders, hormonal disorders, obesity, cancer, subacute infections, and reactions to ordered medications.

As you see, it is very difficult to distinguish a like to each other conditions. The turning to doctors in time will help to prevent severe forms of CFS.
