What You Need To Know About Hyperhidrosis

Do you sweat a lot in a day? You could have hyperhidrosis. Old folks believe that hyperhidrosis can be contracted by touching those who have the disease or by immediately washing tired hands and feet. But that is too far from the reality.

Actually, when you say hyperhidrosis, it is the excessive sweating of the different parts of the body; like the armpits, palms, soles or below the breast. This is common among people suffering from obesity, diabetes, and nervousness.

According to scientific studies, hyperhidrosis is not caused by washing tired hands and feet. This condition is brought about by eating hot, spicy foods, or due to their stimulating beverages.

As the body’s metabolic motor is revived up by an overactive thyroid, the skin becomes moist and warm, the hands shake, the hair thins, and the pulse rate increases.

In some cases, people perspire so much after taking certain medications or during drug withdrawals.

To have a better relief from hyperhidrosis caused by the above conditions, the doctor should simply treat the underlying disorder. If in case the doctor has ruled out the conditions, and yet a person still perspires, it may be a case of inherent disorder of the sweat glands.
